Tokyo [Yedo] Bay was the location for the Commodore Matthew Perry's early negotiations with the Japanese Bakufu in the 1850's. It was also the [most] official Japanese-European contacts following the Meiji Restoration. The black and white picture is a picture of Commodore Matthew Perry.
