To start

Yedo Bay, sometimes Edo or Tokyo Bay, is located off of the east-central coast of the island of Honshu Japan. It is a major port of Japan. The bay is about 30 miles long and 20 miles wide. It provides a large port for the cities of Tokyo, Yokohama and Kawasaki. The Miura and Boso peninsulas surround Yedo Bay to the west [Miura] and east [Boso.]

Economy

The economy of Japan is highly based off of the importing and exporting that goes on in Yedo Bay. At any given time there are ships going either way, in or out, of the bay. The many ports located along its shores allow for different docks for different products. Yedo Bay has several lanes of traffic going north or south similar to a freeway.

Aqua-Line Tunnel

Yet another part of Yedo Bay is the Aqualine tunnel. The Aqualine Tunnel is a tunnel that spans the narrowest part of the bay. It made quick travel around the bay possible. Taking roughly 31 years [include study] and 1.44 trillion dollars the bridge/tunnel opened in December of 1997. It connects the Kisarazu city of Chiba Prefecture and the Kawasaki city of Kanagawa Prefecture. The Kawasaki side of the tunnel is 5.9 miles long 197 feet under the surface of the ocean.
